Yes, our digital otoscope is a Class I medical device. We are also in the process of obtaining Class II Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) approval for our artificial intelligence component.
Yes, we have submitted a PIA to the OIPC. Upon enrollment, we can provide you with details on recommended amendments for your clinic’s PIAs.
Absolutely. All images in our AI database are stripped of patient data and identifying information. The use of these images has been approved by the CPSA.
There’s no conflict of interest. Alethea Plus users are reimbursed for their eConsults, with billing managed through AH codes and guidelines. This system is designed to acknowledge the value of eConsults for both physicians and patients, and we cover the cost of the digital otoscope and facilitate access to care without financial barriers.
