Dr. Tharindri Dissanayake received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honours First Class at the University of Calgary. She then received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Calgary. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency followed by her Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Alberta. She is now a staff physician at the University of Alberta Hospital and is also involved in medical education as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta.
Dr. Dissanayake now provides full spectrum rheumatological care in Edmonton with a primary focus in inflammatory arthritis.
In 2017, Dr. Dissanayake co-founded a new rheumatology clinic in association with the University of Alberta: Garneau Rheumatology. This new care paradigm has significantly reduced wait times and has resulted in greater access to care for patients in the Edmonton zone.
