Originally from Calgary, Dr. Chawla has completed extensive medical training across Canada. She attended medical school at the University of Saskatchewan, followed by a pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa. In 2020, she returned to Calgary to complete a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH), where she now practices as a hospital pediatrician.
In addition to her role at ACH, Dr. Chawla serves as the consultant pediatrician for Siksika First Nation. Her areas of interest include clinical care for children with medical complexity (CMC), patient advocacy, and Indigenous Child and Youth health.
