Dr. Lashan Peiris is an Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast and General Surgeon and Associate Clinical Professor within the Division of Surgery at the University of Alberta. He is the Clinical Lead of the Comprehensive Breast Care Program for the Edmonton Zone and Surgical Site Lead for the Cross Cancer Institute.
In addition to his surgical work, he is a core faculty member of the Canadian Oncoplastic Partnership Workshop. His research interests include the management of high-risk breast lesions, predictors of axillary response after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with node-positive breast cancer, formulating an Oncoplastic Database showing both clinical and patient-reported outcomes, and the de-escalation of axillary surgery.
He continues to supervise breast cancer-related clinical and lab-based research.
