Avery Wynick

Dr. Avery Wynick (she/her) MD MSc CCFP is a family physician in Edmonton with a practice focus in 2SLGBTQ+ health. Dr. Wynick completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario and Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta. She currently works at MacEwan University Health Centre providing gender affirming and primary care and at the Edmonton Birth Control Centre providing care to patients with barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare.

Within the scope of 2SLGBTQ+ care, Dr. Wynick provides gender affirming hormone therapy, letters of support for gender affirming surgeries, HIV PrEP, doxy PEP, trauma-informed and gender affirming primary care. She is engaged in teaching from preclerkship through to residency and is the Gender and Sexuality Theme Lead for undergraduate medicine at the University of Alberta and the clinical lead for the Prairie Queer & Trans Healthcare Mentorship Group.
