Alethea is an eConsult and digital diagnostic platform that helps Family Physicians to get specialist advice in 1 day instead of the months or years of a traditional referral. We are dedicated to creating web applications that offer exceptional user experiences and genuinely enhance the practices of our Family Physicians and Specialists.

We are looking for an experiences rock-star developer to join our development team, and hopefully grow to become our Tech Lead or more. We are a startup, so we are seeking a motivated recent grad that can work independently, or as part of a team, to solve problems and deliver results. As part of the development team you will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining our various platforms on mobile and web, which are already making a profound impact on hundreds of family doctors and patients.

As part of the Development Team at Alethea you will:

• Build Alethea’s frontend web and mobile applications using React-Typescript and Firebase services.
• Maintain and develop our backend using Node.JS and Firebase services.
• Work in the Google Cloud Platform to manage all aspects of the application.
• Debug and test our applications.
• Work with our Product Team to identify new features to fulfill user needs.
• Participate in every stage of development, from architectural decisions to deploying your code.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Thinks critically and asks questions; you are comfortable solving problems when the requirements are ambiguous
• Will challenge the status quo, with the intent of improving how doctors work, and our software and development practices.
• Has aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new tech stacks, programming languages and tools
• Has experience building web and or mobile applications, be it for university projects, side projects, or previous employment
• Is familiar with cloud and internet basics; you know how a web application works
